WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Region promotes development opportunities at international property show

The MIPIM Property show took place in France earlier this month, bringing together developers, investors and intermediaries from across the globe to promote and discuss the global property market place.

MIPIM is Europe's largest and most successful International property exhibition and conference. The theme this year was “Driving Urban Change” – and once again Coventry and Warwickshire had a major presence at the four-day event.

20,000 delegates from over 80 countries gathered, heralding the return to face-to-face networking and in-person events for the international property industry as restrictions ease following the global pandemic.

The event featured over 360 speakers, with 2,400 exhibiting companies at more than 350 exhibition stands and pavilions across 18,500m² of exhibition area.

The Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership promoted six key projects from across the region, including the West Midlands Gigafactory, Creative Quarter Leamington Spa, Transforming Nuneaton promoted by Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council, and MIRA Technology Park, South Site, allocated by North Warwickshire Borough Council in their Local Plan.

The Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership also ran popular events around ‘Net Zero Carbon Technologies in Coventry & Warwickshire’ and ‘The New Vibe Future High Streets in Coventry & Warwickshire’ with Complex Development Projects and CoStar, to promote the R&D and technology led development taking place across the county and the city, and a round table event focused on opportunities in the Warwickshire area.

The UK Government Pavilion hosted a number of events during the week. Speaking at a special West Midlands event there, the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, launched £15bn worth of housing, regeneration, commercial and infrastructure development in the West Midlands Investment Prospectus, updated for 2022, which also included the six local major projects.

MIPIM commercial partners this year included Evans Randall and MIRA Technology Park, who were promoting their new South Site. For more information on the Coventry & Warwickshire presence at MIPIM 2022, visit the Coventry & Warwickshire Champions website.
