Tackling domestic abuse in the workplace
Domestic Abuse in the workplace training is now available to those that live or work within Warwickshire, for both employers and employees.
Training dates and times are:
- Wednesday 5th November 2025 at 12:00-13:15 via Microsoft Teams
- Tuesday 24th February 2026 at 12:00-13:15 via Microsoft Teams
The “Lunch and Learn” sessions provide essential domestic abuse education, for all employees. Delivered virtually, these sessions offer valuable insights and resources to help understand and address domestic abuse effectively.
The session is hosted by Sharon, who in 2015, came dangerously close to becoming part of a harrowing statistic: on average, one woman loses her life every five days at the hands of a perpetrator. Sharon’s mission is to educate businesses across the UK on what domestic abuse truly is, the crucial role they can play in supporting affected employees, and the life-saving difference a workplace can make. Her goal is to ensure every organisation has a robust Domestic Abuse Policy in place, offering protection, guidance, and a culture of care.
For Sharon, work was the only place that offered any sense of safety. Research shows that up to 75% of employed victims are harassed by their abuser during work hours.
The session typically lasts one hour, including time for Q&A. Lived experience examples are woven throughout the course, bringing it to life. The session focuses on the 3R’s - how to Recognise, Respond, and Refer victim/survivors to support services and is inclusive of all genders, cultures and backgrounds, recognising that domestic abuse does not discriminate.
