Hello and welcome to the November edition of Warwickshire Means Business.
This month brings exciting news of the launch of the £4.6million Business Growth Warwickshire Programme. Developed and commissioned jointly by the six local authorities in Warwickshire, this programme will engage with over 2,000 businesses, offering six strands of support. It is a fantastic example of the most effective collaboration between councils and other support-providers across our county.
In another bumper edition this month, we report the very welcome news that more than £10million of the Local Skills Improvement Fund has been awarded to our region. We also focus on the increasing appeal of Electric Vehicles and the support available from Warwickshire County Council to businesses interested in transitioning their vehicles. We hear the uplifting story of how a Small Capital Grant has enabled Cleary’s Boxing Gym to reach out more into its community and, with Christmas around the corner, we feature a WCC campaign to encourage consumers to shop local this festive season.
Our ‘Talk Up Our Towns’ spotlight settles on Warwick where businesses large and small are joining forces to move forward together. The renewed sense of positivity around our county town is exemplified by the Lord Leycester Hospital which has been transformed by a £4.5million restoration project.
From the north of the county, we hear about a prestigious award collected by the BMW plant at Hams Hall. From the south comes the inspiring story of the Supported Internships at the Heart of England Forest which have given Rhiannon and Matthew a great career platform.
