WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Welcome from Monica Fogarty

Hello and welcome to the May edition of Warwickshire Means Business.
I must open by sharing a significant change in that the County Council political leadership has changed following the elections on May 1st, with a shift to a minority Administration led by the Reform UK.  I have been working with the new councillors and can tell you that the Council’s commitment to supporting the business community is unchanged.
At the heart of our Council Plan are commitments to promote inclusive, sustainable economic growth and support successful business, good quality jobs and future skills. Those objectives remain at the core of the business and skills support that we provide and in this edition of Warwickshire Means Business we feature just some of the many ongoing programmes that are delivered in communities across the county, week in and week out, by ourselves and our partners.
A real success story of the last two years has been the creation and progress of Warwickshire Supported Employment Service (WSES). Its mission is to support Warwickshire’s young people and adults with autism and/or learning disabilities into paid work and Jordan’s Journey is a wonderful example of that.
Moor Farm Stables is another organisation which does wonderful work with young people in the community and we hear how that work has been enhanced by support from the very successful Skills Escalator programme. The Warwickshire Business Energy Advice service has also proved a great success and we report the big difference its support has made to two businesses - Technoset and Hertz Electrical - in Rugby.
We also look forward to some exciting events coming up in June. Interactive Futures 2025, at the Royal Spa Centre, Leamington Spa, on June 13 and 14, will showcase the vibrant talent and creativity within Warwickshire’s gaming industry.  On June 24, Eliot Park Innovation Centre will be the venue for the sixth Coventry and Warwickshire Workplace Wellbeing Forum which will help local businesses continue to improve the health and wellbeing support they offer to their employees.
We bring the customary comprehensive round-ups of News-in-brief and Upcoming Events from around the County. It's undoubtedly a very busy time and there is so much going on in Warwickshire – we have so much to be proud of and it was great that our fantastic offer as a business base was showcased to a huge audience at UKREiiF last week.
Take a look and have a great read...
