WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Welcome from Cllr Izzi Seccombe

Hello and welcome to the December edition of Warwickshire Means Business. I hope you are all ready for a lovely, restful and peaceful festive season.

In the last WMB of 2023, firstly let me thank you for signing up to receive our business newsletter. During this year, Warwickshire Means Business passed the two million hits milestone and is already well on the way to three million! Thank you for subscribing and sharing the content which really helps us to achieve our goal of ensuring that Warwickshire’s business community is kept fully informed about all the support available from ourselves and our partners in the region.

We are always on the lookout for Warwickshire success stories and keen to share information that helps businesses, careers-seekers and the local economy in general to grow and prosper. Please do get in touch with brianhalford@warwickshire.gov.uk if there is a story or an issue that you think we should feature.

In this edition, we are proud to announce that applications are now open for the Future Apprenticeships Fund. This exciting initiative from Warwickshire Skills Hub is part of the County Council’s recently-launched £900,000 Future Skills Programme. Please do have a look and see how it could help you.

Another excellent project from the Skills Hub is Warwickshire Supported Employment Service and we report some very positive outcomes from a WSES Inclusive Industry Tour at Wincanton’s distribution site at Hams Hall.

We also report how Start-up Support helped a Nuneaton man turn his business dream into a reality and we hear of exciting plans to grow The Financial Fit, a bespoke programme run by Coventry & Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust to support women entrepreneurs.

With the festive season upon us, Warwickshire Towns Network’s Warwickshire Christmas campaign is encouraging shoppers to support their local high streets. How lovely do our towns and villages across our wonderful county look in the approach to Christmas? Please do shop local as much as you possible can!

All that remains is for me to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous 2024.

IZZI
