‘Support your local businesses this festive season’ is the message from an interactive Warwickshire County Council campaign.
The Warwickshire Christmas campaign has returned this year to encourage customers to shop locally and take advantage of all the high quality businesses across the county’s towns and villages.
The drive is being supported by a social media campaign by Warwickshire Towns Network, which is showcasing a festive town centre mix. The campaign highlights the uniqueness of each town and their offer, including the independent retail offer and uses high-quality images and shareable content, enabling businesses to support each other.
Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economy & Place, Cllr Martin Watson said: “In towns and villages throughout Warwickshire we are blessed by a wonderful array of small independent businesses which offer all sorts of fantastic opportunities for festive shopping.
“These businesses are the lifeblood of our communities all year round so let’s all support them at this important time. It’s not just about the benefit of the businesses though - shopping local also makes lots of sense for us as consumers when we find we can get all we need right on our doorstep!”
The campaign has so far reached more than 21,000 businesses, residents and visitors on social media and enjoyed more than 1,700 interactions. Highlights have included Santa Claus exploring Coleshill’s many independents, with his trip to boutique Glitzy Bits reaching hundreds, and dozens of Rugby’s residents and businesses sharing their favourite independents in the town off the back of one post.
