WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Welcome from Cllr Izzi Secombe

Hello and a warm welcome to the May edition of Warwickshire Means Business.

In this edition we are delighted to announce the opening of the latest round of our hugely successful Small Capital Grants programme.

Since 2015, the SCG programme has awarded over £2million to small businesses in Warwickshire and helped to create more than 200 jobs around the county. It is a real success story and the story goes on! Please do get in touch if a grant might be beneficial to your business or that of someone you know.

Small Capital Grants are just one element of the broad range of business support available from WCC and our partners. A recent addition to the options for businesses to explore is the Business Investment Growth strand of our Warwickshire Recovery Investment Fund. In this issue of Warwickshire Means Business, we introduce the members of our newly-compiled BIG team who are a first port of call for any businesses wanting support as they seek to grow. Again, please do get in touch if that support could help you.

Also in this edition of WMB we feature the Let's Go Rural programme which is bringing together rural employers looking to recruit and young people seeking to embark on careers. We highlight the success of Project Warwickshire in its mission to supply swift support for the hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors and we look forward to the mouth-watering prospect of next month's Foodie Awards.

We also focus on some heroes of our community, on-call firefighters, and hear how some of them are happily combining the role of firefighter with running their own business by using their local fire station as an office.

Please enjoy all these stories and much more in the latest Warwickshire Means Business. I hope that some of the support we publicise here can help your business to thrive.

Izzi
