WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Get involved with #Warksmas2021

There is still time to get involved in the successful ‘#Warksmas2021’ social media campaign!

Launched at the end of November, and finishing on 24 December, the campaign is encouraging people in Warwickshire to support independent retailers and rural businesses by shopping locally - whether in person, or online - in the run up to Christmas.

As part of the campaign, the County Council, brought back last year’s successful A to Z of Christmas.

The campaign has been highlighting businesses, events, products, and services beginning with each letter of the alphabet to create the perfect Christmas gift list, curated from independent retailers across the county. The first day featured businesses starting with the letter A, the second day B, and so on.

So far, 54 businesses have been highlighted in the A to Z of Christmas campaign featuring a wide variety of products and services. Many of these businesses have also been able to tell their story in a series of short videos. You can see the videos here: Buy and Eat Local Warwickshire – Warwickshire County Council

Focusing on the High Streets, the Santa Showcase features honorary Warwickshire Santas, sharing their favourite gifts sourced from many of the independent retailers based in our Warwickshire towns. This showcase is available as a series of short videos, available via the Buy and Eat Local Warwickshire pages, as above.

The social media posts are being shared via the Warwickshire Towns Network Facebook page and Twitter: @WarksTN, as well Warwickshire County Council’s other social media channels. Each post uses #Warksmas2021 and tags the town, where the retailer or business is located, for example #Nuneaton, #Leamington or #Alcester.

To date, the analytics of Warksmas social media activity highlight that Twitter posts featuring #Warksmas2021 have been viewed over 20.8k times during a 21-day period (from 24 November – 14 December 2021), receiving an average of 998 views per day.
