WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Welcome from Mark Ryder

Hello and welcome to the June edition of Warwickshire Means Business.
A broad and diverse range of business and skills support is offered by our teams and our partners across the county and region, and it is great to read in this month's WMB about so many examples of how the business community benefits from them.
Warwickshire County Council is committing to promoting inclusive, sustainable economic growth and a major strand of support in recent years has been, and remains, the Duplex Investment Fund. In this edition, we hear how the Fund has loaned more than £3.25million to small businesses, levering more than another £1million in private sector investment.
It has been a busy month which brought another very successful Interactive Futures festival in Leamington. The amazing range and depth of Warwickshire skills and expertise in the Games sector was wonderfully showcased at the event.
This month has also brought International Women in Engineering Day. Warwickshire County Council’s commitment to encouraging women to take up engineering is longstanding and ongoing. WMB this month continues its awareness-raising series of interviews with a feature on how women are increasingly influential in powering the local Games sector. We also tell the remarkable story of Natalie Dowsett and how her engineering background was the platform from which small business in the Warwickshire countryside grew to offer precious support to a client-base in Rwanda.
All this and much more, including the customary round up of local News-in-brief and Upcoming Events. As always, the articles are full of links to full information of all the strands of support available, so please do get in touch if we can help you.
