WARWICKSHIRE MEANS BUSINESS

Welcome from Monica Fogarty

Hello and welcome to the January edition of Warwickshire Means Business. May I wish you all the very best for a happy and prosperous 2023.

In this month’s edition we feature the first business to benefit from our new Green Business Recovery Grants Scheme. This scheme has been devised and implemented to help small businesses fund improvements which will reduce energy costs and thereby strengthen them for the long term. Nuneaton Disco Bowl is a great example of what can be achieved and the scheme is open for applications until July so please do have a look and consider whether we could help your business.

Also freshly launched is our Warwickshire Digital Creative Co-investment Fund which offers to grant support to small businesses which are looking to grow in that sector. The deadline for applications is February 14th so, again, please have a read and get in touch with us if you think this could benefit you.

These new schemes add to the wide range of business support that is ongoing from WCC and our partners across the region. In this edition we report how the Business Ready programme has helped Mammoth Mythics and Purple Planet with their expansion plans. We also feature another highly productive year of support from Coventry & Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust who deliver our Duplex Investment Fund and Local Community and Enterprise Fund.

Also this month, with National Apprenticeship Week just around the corner (February 6-12), we outline all the ways in which WCC offers support to businesses who are interested in taking on an apprentice. We introduce our new Commissioning Manager (Economy and Skills), Kim Fraser-Bell, and feature Southam in our Talk Up Your Town section.

There is also the customary round up of all the latest News-in-Brief and the regular Upcoming Business Events to keep you right up to date with all the latest help coming down the track. Please do have a good look at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/business-support and get in touch with us if there is anyone we can do to help.
